Translational Glycomaterials and Neural Repair Lab
Regenerative Bioscience Center, University of Georgia
We are recruiting!
The Translational Glycomaterials and Neural Repair Lab is recruiting two highly-motivated Ph.D. students for the projects described below. Students will be working in a fast-paced and highly interdisciplinary area of research. Students will be expected to cultivate interdisciplinary team science research skills, be proactive and demonstrate risk taking ability, and possess excellent communication and time-management skills. Interested candidates should email Dr. Karumbaiah with a statement of interest and CV, along with contact details of at least three references.
Anti-Tumor Therapeutic Potency Testing

Description
Responsibilities will include:
-
Characterizing the brain tumor microenvironment.
-
Performing drug potency assays using 3D tumor organoids and microfluidic tumor-on-chip platform technologies.
-
Conducting in vivo studies using rodent xenograft models and non-invasive imaging using MRI and PET.
-
Biochemical and molecular biological characterization of patient-derived tumor cells and tissues.
-
Brain tissue preparation for histological analysis.
-
Imaging and image analysis using ‘R’ packages or MATLAB image processing toolbox.
-
Data analysis and preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals.
-
Mentoring undergraduate students and supervising undergraduate research activities.
