Min Kyoung Sun

Short Bio:

Min Sun graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in neuroscience, a minor in chemistry, and certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. As an undergraduate, she worked at the laboratory for Child Brain Development, which is part of the University of Pittsburgh/UPMC Department of Psychiatry. The lab focused on neural mechanisms of emotional and cognitive development in young children using multi-modal nueroimaging techniques. She also worked as an undergraduate research assistant in the Gibbs lab in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the University of Pittsburgh, where she studied the effects of estrogen in regulating cholinergic neurons. She joined the Karumbaiah Lab in December 2016, and is working on developing novel biomaterials for the treatment of traumatic brain injuries.
